On Christmas Eve, 2004, I married my best friend, Amy, in an intimate ceremony in a snow-covered mountain inn just outside of Park City. Our wedding officiant met with us in her home on a snowy afternoon several weeks before our wedding and took the time to get to know us as individuals and as a couple. She let us into her life, learned about us, and shared with us her family story.
Upon leaving, we felt as though we had not only met our officiant, but made a new friend. The ceremony that she created for us based on that meeting was exactly what we had in mind, and she included every element that we had discussed. Our ceremony was more beautiful than we could have imagined, and she was forever woven into the fabric of one of the most cherished moments in our life.
After having such a wonderful experience of our own, I wanted the opportunity to pay that forward to couples on their special day. I was ordained by the Universal Life Church Monestary in Seattle, WA, on May 13, 2009 and performed my very first wedding in September of that year. I enjoyed that experience immensely, and have been successfully marrying couples ever since. In the years since, I have performed hundreds of weddings in the most magical places... On a remote shore of Redfish Lake in Stanley, on a mountain peak overlooking Payette Lake in McCall, in the rotunda of the Idaho capital building in Boise, even on the beach at the Jersey Shore...not to mention the countless backyards, chapels, and event centers here in the Treasure Valley. And with each wedding I officiate, I am humbled by the fact that I was chosen to be a part of the most special moment in each couple's life.
When I'm not performing weddings, I have been an educator for over 20 years, and I teach 5th grade in the West Ada School District. I am married to my beautiful wife, Amy, and the proud father of two beautiful daughters, Morgan Noelle and Clara Josephine, who are the lights of my life. I hold a bachelor's degree from Penn State University, and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho.
In my free time, I enjoy the Idaho lifestyle...fly-fishing for trophy trout, pheasant hunting over my pudelpointer, camping with my family, and entertaining family and friends in our home.
